3 Core Practices That Support the Release of Negative Energy

The following 3 practices create a body of routines on how to take care of your energy, which are based on ideas on supporting yourself in a grounded and intuitive way. Combining these practices develops a toolkit that you can use repeatedly. Note that these practices are not set in stone by giving you ample space for you to adjust them to your needs based on your schedule and energy levels.

1. Morning Alignment Through Rituals and Grounding Practices

As mentioned above, it is important for you to start your day from a grounded energy state.

Instead of diving directly into social media or listening to the news, as you wake up, what you can do instead is undertaking practices like journaling, meditation, or listening to meaningful content, can help you set the tone for the rest of your day.

In my case, right as I wake up, I like to give myself a half to one hour Reiki session to support myself physically, emotionally and mentally, which then leaves me feeling invigorated and balanced before engaging with my daily commitments.

2. Creating Supportive Environments and Nourishing Daily Choices

The next thing that you need to keep in mind when you want to keep negative energy away from your system is being aware of your environment and how it affects you.

When you’re in a clean and organized environment , your mind will resonate with your environment by becoming focused and also giving space for inspiration. Also, clutter holds negative energy, and by organizing your space, you’re releasing this energy.

You can augment the positivity of your space by placing objects that have meaning to you, such as plants, crystals, photos, and whatever lifts your spirit.

It is also important to be aware of how you nourish your body, by being mindful of what you ingest daily and how present you are when you’re eating. This promotes your wellbeing, and from this state, you also build an energetic “immune system” against negative energy.

The next thing that you need to keep in mind when you want to keep negative energy away from your system is being aware of your environment and how it affects you.

In my practice, I have designated a space in my home where I meditate and do energy work. This sacred space is positively invigorated every time I practice, which creates a loop where the energy built through my spiritual practice lifts me up as soon as I sit there to do my work.

3. Boundaries, Smart Structure, and Evening Reset for Complete Rebalancing

The last tip I want to give you in terms of how to release negative energy and keep it away from you is the idea of setting boundaries, creating structure in how you approach your daily tasks.

For the former, you do this by limiting notifications from your phone, stepping away from meaningless conversations. For the latter, is to use a planner to organize your daily tasks throughout your week, preferably on a Sunday. In this way, you won’t have to try to organize your day on the spot, thus freeing you from overthinking and instead putting your energy into the task at hand.

What also helps when your day is ending is finding and doing small rituals that will help you decompress.

In my case, I like to do a full body scan either by sitting or lying, intending to find tension in my body, and using the image of a blue light, letting that light melt away the tension. This practice helps me to realign and prepares my body to have a restful and nourishing sleep.

Conclusion

Releasing negative energy, and keeping it at bay, doesn’t have to involve elaborate practices.

Small habits practiced every day have a cumulative effect on your effort to release negativity, which you inevitably accumulate throughout the day, but also help build resilience towards negativity when you confront it.

You don’t have to engage in all the practical tips I mentioned above all at once, but pick the one that you feel needs the least effort for you to begin and just do it regularly. As time goes by, you might want to add more to your practice, but this is something that you will have to decide for yourself.

Till next time, take care.
