Throughout my spiritual journey, I’ve experienced a sense of misalignment between my regular access to higher realms of reality and my human self, day-to-day life.

This misalignment had to do with an imbalance that was taking place within my energetic state.

I have discussed in other articles the importance of being aware of your energy system and if it is functioning. But I would like to introduce to you here a more focused approach in viewing your energy field and how this new concept is related to your emotional and mental wellness.

What I’m talking about is the concept of the seven major energy centers that run along the spine of your body called Chakras. These energy centers handle your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. But they do not act in isolation, since if one of them is blocked or overactive, the other ones need to overcompensate for it.

What I’m talking about is the concept of the seven major energy centers that run along the spine of your body called Chakras.

In this article, we’re going to explore the importance of having a balanced Chakra system along by learning how they interact with each other to facilitate the alignment that, at some point, I was lacking.

So, let’s begin.

What You’ll Learn About Your Body’s Energy Centers

Emotional Alignment and Healing

When I was in high school, being the odd one forced me to stifle my truth and surprise my authentic self to fit in.

This was caused by the fear of standing out, which haunted me for years until I realized how important it was for me to learn how to express myself to feel aligned with who I was. I learned later that this was caused by a blocked Throat Chakra that is responsible for free communication and expression.

This is an example of how blocked Chakras are responsible for experiencing emotional turmoil and how, by being attuned to your Chakras you can learn which ones are blocked (or overactive) and need attention and healing.

I learned later that this was caused by a blocked Throat Chakra that is responsible for free communication and expression.

You can’t even experience this type of energy stagnation by being aware of your physical body. Bodily reactions like feeling a tightness in your chest, or a lump in your Throat or even a heaviness in your belly are ways that your energy centers are trying to communicate with you and seeking for your attention.

Inner Wisdom and Authentic Expression

Another thing that I came to realize after working with my Chakras, was how they affected how I was connected with my intuition and inner wisdom. Especially working with the Throat, Third Eye and Crown Chakras, helped me realize how when they are fully functioning, I connect with my spirit and its vision for me and my purpose, that through an open Thoat Chakra helped me to express it into reality.

Spiritual Growth and Energetic Integration

One of the most important lessons that I also learned about the Chakras, was the necessity of having a balance between your higher Chakras (Throat, Third Eye, Crown) and your lower ones (Solar Plexus, Sacral, Root Chakra).

For years I had been channeling and doing a lot of energy work, as I mentioned in other articles, which at one point felt like I was a tree that had developed sturdy branches but had weak roots.

This led me to realizing the need to strengthen my Root Chakra which is the center that connects you to the earth’s energy and also to your own physicality. In this way, I balanced the relationship of my spiritual self with my human self and also experience a sense of integration between the energy of the two sets of Chakras in my Heart Chakra.

This led me to realizing the need to strengthen my Root Chakra which is the center that connects you to the earth’s energy and also to your own physicality.

5 Keys to Unlocking the Subtle Yet Profound Power of Your Chakras

1. Understanding Chakras as a Holistic System

One thing that is important for you to take note while I am talking about the Chakra system is that these energy centers do not work in isolation, as I mentioned above.

This became apparent to me when I paid more attention to the higher centers when I was doing a lot of energy work, and had thus thrown off balance my lower ones.

One thing that is important for you to take note while I am talking about the Chakra system is that these energy centers do not work in isolation, as I mentioned above.

So, working with your Chakras is not always about working with each one of them at the time (which has its place) but to cultivate an awareness of how they work together as a whole. In this way, you keep them balanced so none of them overtaxes the others, and thus keep a good and balanced flow between them.

  2. Grounding and Emotional Release Through the Root and Sacral Chakras
  3. Igniting Confidence and Personal Power with the Solar Plexus Chakra
  4. Opening the Heart and Throat Chakras for Connection and Truth
  5. Awakening Intuition and Spiritual Connection Through the Higher Chakras

2. Grounding and Emotional Release Through the Root and Sacral Chakras

The Root and Sacral Chakra are the energy centers that keep you anchored to the here and now. They also ground your energy and assist you in standing on your own two feet.

As I explained above, being knowledgeable of the fact that neglecting some of your energy centers favoring others can be detrimental to your general constitution. In my case, I placed more importance on the higher ones, thus causing the lower ones to suffer.

The Root and Sacral Chakra are the energy centers that keep you anchored to the here and now.

So, one way to strengthen your Root and Sacral Chakras that is of great help to me is taking mindful walks.

By that I mean when walking outside, be aware of how the soles of my feet touch the ground. By bringing my awareness to the soles of my feet, I activate what a set of Chakras that belong to a group of centers called Secondary Chakras. The centers I am talking about here are the ones placed at the soles of your feet (one for each foot) and whose purpose is to draw in the energy of the earth that’s grounding you.

Another approach of this type of mindful walking is to be aware of the earth’s energy field, that is strongest near its surface and thus attuning your field to the earth’s vibrations and that can also ground you and indirectly, strengthen your Root Chakra.

So, one way to strengthen your Root and Sacral Chakras that is of great help to me is taking mindful walks.

Also, by moving your body consciously, you strengthen your Sacral Chakra which is connected to the Element of Water, implying its flowing nature and thus through movement strengthen the Sacral Chakra’s “flow”.

3. Igniting Confidence and Personal Power with the Solar Plexus Chakra

The Solare Plexus Chakra is a responsible for your sense of identity and self-worth. For me, it wasn’t until I joined a theater club in my college where I learned how to be who I contrasted with how I was carrying myself throughout high school where I had to hide my identity to fit in.

Also, this energy center when open helps you to be aware of your gut instinct, your inner drive or fire (which is the element associated with this Chakra) of your being and strengthens the sense of “I know who I am”.

The Solare Plexus Chakra is a responsible for your sense of identity and self-worth.

You can strengthen this center by learning how to set boundaries, make decisions, and also through meditating and visualizing the element of Fire in your belly. But a bit of caution here: do not imagine a blazing fire but the steady light of a lit candle so not to overstimulate your Solar Plexus Chakra.

4. Opening the Heart and Throat Chakras for Connection and Truth

I believe that what cultivated my relationship to my heart center was falling for the “wrong people”. Experiencing heartbreak brings up inner wounds related to how you approach relationships and love, wounds that you otherwise wouldn’t be aware of in the first place.

Of course, you don’t have to have your heart broken to help you come in touch with your heart center and any blocks there. I was way in my spiritual journey when falling for the “wrong person” had any meaningful impact in healing my Heart Chakra, and thus had acquired tools and also knowledge on how to deal with the unearthed wounds that were in this center all along.

Opening my heart also let me in connecting with my truth and thus indirectly opened my Throat center as I could now express love and compassion for myself and others.

You can start working with your Heart Chakra by making it a habit of meditating the color green that corresponds to this center (each center along with a corresponding element has also a corresponding color) as a bright sphere of that color at the center of your chest which will help you harmonize this center in a softer way than the one that I had to endure as I described above.

Opening my heart also let me in connecting with my truth and thus indirectly opened my Throat center as I could now express love and compassion for myself and others.

Also what helped me in opening my Throat Chakra was journaling (a habit that I picked up in my teenage years), and also writing fiction, which came about later in my life.

5. Awakening Intuition and Spiritual Connection Through the Higher Chakras

As I said above, I used to channel my higher self and high-level guides a lot. This assisted me in opening my higher energy centers, especially the Crown and Third Eye Chakras.

When these two work together, you are in touch with higher wisdom, which can come from Source, and the Angelic Kingdom, the Ascended Masters or other High-Level types of beings that are here to guide and assist humanity in its growth.

It is important to note that, from my understanding, these two centers are the most challenging to keep balanced and to activate.

So, I suggest that if you want to work with these centers to find a teacher that either is an established psychic channel, or someone who has been working with high frequency energies for some time now (like channeling light language) and associate with them in order for you to activate the said Chakras.

It is important to note that, from my understanding, these two centers are the most challenging to keep balanced and to activate.

Conclusion

Now you’re aware of your major energy centers, your Chakras, and how they affect both your physical, mental and emotional well-being but also how they can assist you in your own path of self-realization.

There are many ways to keep those centers balanced open and functioning, and the practices I mentioned are just a few. On that note, I would like to encourage you to explore the concept of Chakras further and do your own research about how to keep these centers balanced and active.

I hope this article has ignited your curiosity on how to work with your Chakras and I’m wishing you the best on your journey of exploring and learning more about them.

Till next time, take care.
