From the moment I came across the idea of using crystals in my spiritual growth and energy work, I have been fascinated by the topic.
But it wasn’t until I came to learn that these precious gemstones can help me and others in aligning our chakras that was when I truly felt that I had unlocked the mysteries and secrets that these precious gemstones held.

Adding the aid of crystals to your work with your chakras can be a powerful tool to bring about balance in your energetic field and can even be reflected in your body.
In this article, we’re going to dive deep into the concept of applying the power of crystals in your energy work with the chakra system, how you can pick up the best crystals to work with each chakra, and more.
Adding the aid of crystals to your work with your chakras can be a powerful tool to bring about balance in your energetic field and can even be reflected in your body.
So, let’s begin.
Understanding Chakra Stones and Their Role in Energetic Alignment
Crystals have long held an important part in my spiritual journey. Throughout the years I have come to see crystals not just pretty stones to look at but as living manifestations of energetic intelligence that can help you discover spiritual truths, align with your purpose, and also keep you energetically balanced throughout your everyday life too.
The Power of Crystals in Chakra Healing
I can still remember the first time I visited a crystal shop.
As I was wandering around and looking at the shelves and tables that hosted crystals in various forms, colors and sizes, I immediately felt that a new world had opened before my eyes.
I can still remember the first time I visited a crystal shop.
Some of them had a special affinity for me and as I was holding them, I could feel that I was communicating with these crystals in a language that was beyond reason but was bringing important messages to my soul and core of my being.
At some point I was also drawn towards working with essential oils and their own energetic signatures, and when I came to know them, I felt they were liquid crystals having their own properties and intelligences, as crystals did.
The book that introduced me to working with essential oils also introduced me to the concept of chakras, and at some point, as my work with the essential oils and crystals merged, so did my chakra work merge with that of working with crystals.
Crystals as Intuitive Guides
For me, after working for years with crystals, it is a given that these small (or even large) formations of matter are living entities. If you take time to approach them in this way, you discover that they can help you both in advancing your spiritual path, and your energy work.
It can be as simple as just holding at the crystal of your choosing and by closing your eyes letting any impression come to you, either through a symbol in your mind, or even a physical sensation.

This is the first step of getting to know a crystal and if you continue to work with it for a longer period, you will be amazed at what this crystal can teach you.
Chakras as Emotional-Energetic Maps
The chakra system is a wonderful way to approach your life in a holistic way. Each chakra is not just a center in your energy field, but it also regulates your emotional body (along with your physical, mental and spiritual ones).
In the book that I mentioned above, where I learned about the use of essential oils in energy work, I was also introduced on how to use a pendulum to gauge the state of my or another person’s chakras.
The chakra system is a wonderful way to approach your life in a holistic way.
By having an outline of a human figure on paper and marking each chakra on this outline with a circle, I would then proceed in holding the pendulum above each circle corresponding to the chakra that I wanted information about. I would ask the pendulum if it was balanced, blocked or over stimulated and depending upon the answer, I would draw another circle that, depending on its diameter, would indicate the chakra’s state.
Based on the information that I would end up with and having a general overview of the state of my chakras (or the state of the chakras of another person I would do a reading for) I would gain deeper insights of my emotional state too and what to do to improve if I had to.
This is, of course, one way to work with your chakras to gain information about your emotional body, but one that I would encourage you to do some research on and learn how to read your chakras as a starting point towards a more balanced emotional state.

5 Transformative Insights from the Chakra and Crystal Connection
In this section of the article, I want to present to you 5 insights that represent a bigger picture of the connection between crystals and chakras so that you have a better overview of how they work together before engaging in experimenting in combining them in your own energy practice.
1. The Ancient Roots of the Chakra System—and Why They Still Matter
When trying to understand the chakras, it is good to honor their origin before working with them in how it is done within the contemporary spiritual community.
The concept of chakras comes from India, and it is thousands of years old, written in sacred texts known as Vedas. In these texts, we can find traces of the idea of how the energy flows through the body, and how this energy influences everything from your vitality to your emotions and even your sense of purpose in life.
When trying to understand the chakras, it is good to honor their origin before working with them in how it is done within the contemporary spiritual community.
How we approach the chakras today is recent and dates back to the beginning of the 20th century. Adherence of the esoteric school of thought that of the Theosophical Society (such as Charles W. Leadbeater who was part of a group that put the foundations on how we view the chakra system today), were responsible for the concept of seven major chakras each one having one of the colors of the rainbow and vibrating in certain frequencies.
Even though this “new” approach might be a novelty in terms of the chakras and how they work, it is still a useful and reliable approach.
2. Crystals as Subtle Energy Tools for Chakra Balancing
One of the most memorable instances of me working with crystals alongside with my chakras is when I did a meditation placing a small amethyst crystal on my third eye as I was lying down. I instantly felt a tingling in the area where the crystal touched my skin and a sort of pulsation, a tangible sign that something was happening.
Using crystals either by placing them directly on your chakras or by having them in proximity to your body really affects these centers and helps them to realign back to balance.

It is also noteworthy to understand the power of intention when you work with crystals. Before using a crystal with the chakra, it is best to set the intention of what you want the crystal to do for you, so that you can have a specific and measurable result from this application.
3. Color Matching and the Language of Energetic Resonance
Using the color of a crystal as a guide when you first approach healing chakras with the crystals is a very easy way to familiarize yourself with how crystals correspond with the chakras.
As I mentioned above, each chakra has a color, and by applying a crystal with that corresponding color to it, you have created the first link between the two.
Using the color of a crystal as a guide when you first approach healing chakras with the crystals is a very easy way to familiarize yourself with how crystals correspond with the chakras.
But as you continue working with pairing crystals with chakras, you will come to realize that you might feel drawn to applying them to chakras that may not have the same color as they do, but you know intuitively that this would be the best one to use.

I would also like to introduce the idea of having a crystal journal where you will keep notes of your experiences in getting to know the crystals you possess.
When approaching the crystals in your possession in a more intimate manner (either through meditating while holding them or by noting what happens when you place them over your chakras) and then writing in your journal everything that you have experienced, you are building an invaluable source of information based on your personal experience not having to rely on the authority of a third party.
4. Mapping the Seven Chakras and Their Crystal Allies
So now it’s time to introduce to you a simple guide, or a list of crystals that you can acquire and start applying them in your chakra healing work. This guide is just a suggestion for you to start the ball rolling, and feel free to adjust it according to your work with crystals and by using your intuition:
- Root Chakra – Color: Red – Focus: Grounding, Survival – Crystal: Hematite Sacral Chakra – Color: Orange – Focus: Creativity, Emotions – Crystal: Carnelian
- Solar Plexus Chakra – Color: Yellow – Focus: Confidence, Power – Crystal: Tiger’s Eye

5. Exploring Beyond the Seven: Earth Star and Soul Star Chakras
This list of ideas around pairing crystals with your chakra healing work would be incomplete if I didn’t introduce you to two more chakras that are not part of the traditional idea of the seven major chakras of your energy bodies.
These lesser-known chakras are the Earth Star and Soul Star chakras.
I want to start with the Earth Star chakra, which is positioned just below the soles of your feet. This chakra connects us with the grounding energy of Mother Earth and is responsible for helping us anchor ourselves to the physical realm in a stronger way than the Root Chakra. The crystal I feel you can use to balance this chakra is Red Jasper.
These lesser-known chakras are the Earth Star and Soul Star chakras.
The other novel chakra, the Soul Star chakra, is positioned just above the crown of your head. This chakra helps you connect with spirit, your higher self, in receiving divine downloads and guidance from higher sources. The crystal I feel you can use to balance this chakra is Selenite.
These opposite chakras, when balanced, give me a feeling of alignment that goes beyond the idea of spirit and matter and expands towards the connection of the cosmos and our earthly existence.
Conclusion
Exploring the connection between the crystals and the chakra system, is a wonderful way to be introduced in a very profound and magical experience that goes beyond the mere idea of healing and embraces a multidimensional approach of how your existence as an energy being with a body has its place in a larger universe, and thus giving you a deeper insight of your position and the cosmos.
I hope you felt intrigued in pairing crystals and their energy with the energy of your chakras. Start small. and don’t get crazy about buying lots of crystals. Just have 7 basic ones and follow your intuition on how you can apply them in opening and helping your chakras and your overall being to blossom.
Till next time, take care.
